syren

a Swedish word for lilac - i got it by g-translating "lilacs" -> "syrener" and then shortening it because i like the singular better.

the plan

this is a split ergonomic mechanical keyboard i'm currently in the process of designing. it will be a successor to nymphae, my previous attempt that didn't quite meet my needs and ended up in a box after trying and failing to upgrade some components. i'm going to salvage as much as i can, and sell the rest to someone who has the spoons to do something with it.

this marks the beginning of my experience with these tools so i'm mostly starting from a video i recently found where someone did the thing i want to do! i'll begin catering Christian's caldera example to my own needs as i learn more about how ergogen works, and will eventually have written a development pipeline involving nix to help me along the way.

desired features

  • split
  • ortholinear & staggered
  • usb-c & wireless
    • nice!nanos
    • battery packs
  • hot-swap switch sockets
  • low-profile switches & keys
  • minimal curvy 3d printed case with tenting
  • underglow lights??
